Hi y’all and happy Wednesday! I figured I’d take another stab at this post and also give everyone a small update on where I’ve been. I’ll start with the book stuff though in case you’re not interested in the life stuff 🙂

Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson
This is a reread for me and I’m loving it just as much this time around as I did the first time. It’s cathartic and painful but so worth the read. I relate so much and I’m thankful I picked up this book to read.
The Alice Network by Kate Quinn

The Next Book:
I feel like this is such a loaded question because I am definitely a mood reader. I’ve been wanting to pick up more historical fiction but there are also a number of new releases that have caught my eye. I also have a ton of ARCs that are still sitting around unread.
If I absolutely had to pick a book, I’d like to say that I’m going to finish reading Pride and Prejudice but who knows!
So, on with the life update!
Back in October I hit a slump. It started back in July and just spiraled downward from there. I was running on fumes and everything kind of just imploded. I lost any and all motivation to read or do homework or eat or brush my teeth. I went to work and I came home and I watched a lot of YouTube videos and really didn’t do much of anything else.
I eventually got a little motivation back but I still couldn’t bring myself to pick up a book. I just couldn’t concentrate. So I started crocheting instead. I’ve crocheted a lot over the past few months.
Honestly I felt awful for essentially “giving up” on the blog but I wasn’t doing anything that would give me the content to post on here. Heck, I was barely getting my homework done!
Then January hit and things started to look up just a tiny bit. I continued to crochet a lot, I spent a lot of time with my boyfriend, I started to cut back on the time spent scrolling through social media, and I reevaluated my school plans. Work and school are still stressing me out a lot but I finally realized that I needed to focus on taking care of myself again, so that’s what I did.
For once, things are starting to look up and I actually believe that things will get better for longer than a month or two. I feel hopeful for the first time in a very, very long time and I could cry saying that. I definitely still have my down days and anxiety sucks but I’m going to focus on the good and go from there.
If you’re still reading, thank you. And to everyone who follows this blog, thank you. This little corner of the internet has brought me so much joy and sense of companionship as I’ve felt so alone for so long. I truly appreciate everyone who likes my posts or comments or follows, and I know I’ve said this a lot but I really do mean it.
I’m still probably going to post infrequently just because of where I’m at mentally and with work and school but I don’t get anxious when I think about posting anymore so I’m excited to try and get back into posting.
