Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The topic for this week is the books that I have on my TBR for this fall. I never stick to TBR lists so this is going to be very general about what I plan on reading in the coming months.
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
I made it about a third of the way into this book back in 2017 while I was on a trip (airplanes are prime reading time) and then put it down when I got home and never picked it up again. From 2017-whenever I started blogging again this year I barely read anything so I’m actually really looking forward to reading this again. The Princess Bride is my favorite movie and I can’t wait to see how the two compare! Plus, when I finish reading this I’m going to read As You Wish by Cary Elwes and I’m super excited to read that too!
The Diviners by Libba Bray
I’ve almost gotten rid of this book a few times now but after hearing so many good things I just need to read it. I think my grandma gave me the book after she read it and I’ve had it literally since it first came out.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
I’m actually reading this right now! So far, I’m enjoying it and I am interested in seeing where this story goes. It’s definitely my type of book so I’m hoping I enjoy it as much as everyone else does!
Every Heart A Doorway by Seanan McGuire
I’ve heard that one of the main characters is ace and I CANNOT wait to read that.
The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow
Ever since I read the description of this book, I’ve wanted to read it. I bought it the day it came out and I started it but I think this will be one of those books that I need to read at home on the weekend when I don’t have assignments or cleaning to do. Beautiful cover please don’t let me down!!
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
I’ve heard so many people raving about this and the description gives me fall vibes so that’s why I’m popping it onto my list.
Also apparently I have a theme of books and doors this fall.
City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab
So far, the only book by Victoria Schwab that I’ve read is A Darker Shade of Magic. I really enjoyed it and I have been meaning to read more for years now but I have yet to pick anything up. City of Ghosts was an Amazon daily deal a while back so I decided to get it on a whim (retail therapy is going to ruin me) and I figure fall is the perfect time to read this.
Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell
And while this is on my fall TBR, because I want to reread both Carry On and Fangirl first, there’s a good chance I won’t touch this until next year. Unless of course I end up marathoning all three books in the span of a few days. That’s definitely a possibility too!
Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan
Not really sure what to say about this other than that it’s on my list.
All Systems Red by Martha Wells
Corporations and robots. Enough said.
I’m hoping that I can get through all of these books this fall. I’ve been getting through almost a book a day recently but I’m not sure how long this momentum will keep going. We’re about to hit our busy season at work and there’s already a virus going around and I’m about to finish up my first classes and move onto new ones and oh boy I’m just anticipating being exhausted a lot. I can’t wait to see what everyone else is looking forward to reading this fall, my TBR list keeps getting longer and longer!
